    Best BROADBAND deal?

It has probably been asked many times before - but anyone know any good deals? It is for an 84 year old friend who will only use it now & again & has a BT phone line.

Well with a BT Line you could get BeThere which is 20MB for £24.

But seeing as its an 84 year old you'd probably want the most reliable one rather than the best value for money.

Most reliable - Virgin (you need to get a cable installed though and is quite dear).

Cheapest - if your on Sky TV you can get 2MB sky FREE.

if they are in a virgin (cable) area then they can get 2MB for £10 a month (£25 connection fee), but there is quidco available and £10 credit if you sign up online

I've been using ]PlusNet for years, and although I know that some people don't like them because they had problems I think they've been fantastic. To be honest there won't be a single ISP that somebody hasn't had problems with. There website is excellent and gives easy access to loads of information regarding you connection, and is very easy to use. Is your friend likely to be a light user? If so then prices start at £9.99 but this has a 1GB cap. I pay £14.99 for a 8GB monthly allowance, and with 2 pc's and a Wii connected, and loads of surfing/gaming (3 teenage boys in the house) but admittedly no p2p I've never gone over about 5 or 6 GB/month.

    Hope this helps a bit

    Seconded

My parents, only mid 70's use plus.net £9.99 1GB service and its fine for them. Easy to get set-up, easy website to navigate and it just works.

And contrary to what others say, their CS has been gteat with us during set-up and they have a geographic number to call not 9870/0845 nad they answers the phone quickly and their CS is UK based.

What more do you want for £10/month?

    Thanks all!

Would we be able to use a spare BT or Orange Speedtouch Modem with PLusNet?

Save having to repay £30 for there own if he decides to leave within 12 months (plus the £40 installation cost)
