Best decent discrete dashcam

Hi any recommendations on a decent discrete dashcam? Looking to get one hardwired.

Don't really want it in your face so discrete preferable, just want it to function as it should with features worth having.

Just looking to the hukd community for any advise or if there is one you went with after narrowing down done options and are quite happy with.

Many Thanks

If you get one is probably best to get one that's visible. People tend to not argue of there is a dashcam. If they can't see one you could end up in a wrangle with the insurance companies and have to fight to get them to even watch your dashcam recording.

Being visible or not makes zero difference, you still have the same evidence. Let them argue all you like roadside, who knows until the person looks or it is pointed out to them. Most commercial professional 360 degree kits are just little hidden "bulbs" recording to the cloud. Private can get them fitted too but mostly don't bother due to the costs and associated cloud hosting costs, unless you getting as part of a commercial company deal. Now as to insurance, don't forget if you declare you have one, no matter who's fault you need to produce, or will look bad upon yourself if it "broken". To what suits your needs best having a look around below, although in general if you wish for a screen they will only be as discrete as the size or placement of the screen. Also depends on other factors like if your windscreen has a top sunfilter graduation making it hard for people to see it looking inwards, or the position of your front sensor array and rear view mirror, or even as simple as the tint on your front windscreen. Far as "hidden" etc goes, I'd debate how many cars have been broken into to "steal" a camera kit (though understand also it's because to not obstruct view etc), it aint the 70/80/90's for the entertainment kit.

Just to add one major thing, if you buy normal record to SD card kit, don't forget to not buy cheap, buy properly and do actually check it is recording to the card regularly and that the card has not became corrupt. So many people plug and forget until they need it. Just ask anyone you know who has one, or anyone reading, when did you last actually check the footage was recording to the card and can be read ok.

Blackvue are the best, closely followed by thinkware. Also have a look at Theo, from Thingco, can help with cheaper insurance.
