but for £90 it will do better....but not much more so.. (does htis make sense lol)

then i'll happily just go with the £50....

well ive got this mobo - so im guessing its pci-e

im completely out of touch with building pcs - havent bothered in so long
The new ATI hd4770 sells for around £78 and is better than anything for the price and also doesnt use much power so that means you may get away with using your original PSU,
ahh thanks - that looks like a nice card for the money...

now the hole in my pocket is on fire...tempted to just buy an entire new setup......hmmm how far could £500 go.

oh decisions decisions!!

if i hadn't just opened my case to find out what mobo i had - i wouldn't have remembered the actually state of my case :P

held together using selotape etc

You haven't mentioned what you want this graphics card for. Gaming? Photoshop? Rendering?

The 4850 would be a good card for under £100, I don't know how close the 4770 gets.

And yes, if it's for gaming then a £100 card could give you nearly twice the performance of a £50 one.
yeah its for gaming really.

pc isn't the best spec etc - so dont want to go too mad on the gfx card as the rest of the pc might let it down

downloading that software now just for a nose

thinking about getting a

as that seems a pretty sweet deal.
you can get an nvidia 9800gt for under 100 quid nowadays. I guess there is more powerful ATI price for price , but im biased in that i dont like their drivers.
500 quid will get you an xbox360 + ps3 + some games (and maybe a small tv too)
