Do you have a budget? The ones I have are good:

They work much better from the mains rather than using the rechargeable battery.

No frills, mains powered Wahl ones are the best, just like the barber uses!

Agree about the Wahl, I got some from Superdrug for £20 earlier this year.

Sorry, don't have them with me though, so can't give you any more details, just a brand recommendation.

avoid nicky like the plague have had bad experience with them.... honest profesional opinion go for whal best company out there with the ceramic cutting blades

thx 4 the tip jaggedm  was thinking about those to replace my whal non cordless ones. Think i'll stick with what I have for the moment then

We have had 2 and they kept pulling at my sons hair.... he kept saying "OUCH!" and now he has his haircut at the Barbers.... =|

i have recently bought these from Argos, they are great and at a good price

We had wahl ones for year they were great. Then bought Nicky Clarke, useless, wont go through my sons hair unless I do it in stages, if it is long have to start with a 6, then work down 5, 4, etc depending on how short he wants it, and go really slow otherwise it just grinds to a halt!!
Tried to use it yesterday got half way through is hair & it packed up, took the blade out to see if it was blocked with hair & all the working fell out for inside!!
