Best HDMI Divx DVD player with USB 2.0 connection

Found 24th Oct 2007
I am looking to have a mini media centre like affair in my living room with a divx compatible DVD player linked via USB 2 to an external hard drive on which i store my divx movies. I want to play the movies via the dvd player on to my Samsung TV via an HDMI cable. Is there any such a player that does this well?

The Phillips is USB 1.1, this one has USB 2.0

Please note, playing from a USB hard drive on any of these players is debatable due to the low power output of their USB ports.

Search around AVForums for info on which ones support this feature, and in some cases which USB drives are low powered.

I got that DVD player and its great. up scales to 1080i for great a quality image

I use a pen drive to play DivX films just Drop the film on to the the pen drive and watch

Just out of interest why do you need usb 2.0 ? - do external HD's need the faster USB ?....i'm sure the Philips is fine for flash drives

Mikeyw, I need USB2 as I understand it if you dont have that then speedy scenes (like action scenes) become choppy as USB 1.1 cant handle it. As I have heard anyway.
