I would be very interested in answers for this as well.
Anyone?
What software do you use for photo/video work and can it use graphics cards to accelerate certain tasks?
If the answer is no then aim for a quad core i7.

What size screen do you want?
Is weight and size an issue?
How much battery life do you require?
14 inch 1080p screen will be ideal and 4+ hours battery. Will be using photoshop a lot and storing lots and lots of photos and videos. Dual core i5 or i7 will be enough i should think. Ideally i would like a macbook pro with retina but i'm not willing to pay an arm and a leg for 512GB SSD storage

Why not buy a PC? Instead of doing photoshop and video editing on a small 14" screen?

I do have a powerful PC at home. Also surface pro 2. Just need something more portable with lots of storage. Thanks for the link crazyasif786. However I'm looking for 1TB HDD.

Why not just get an external HD for storage ...

It all the hassle i get from copying photos from sd cards to PC (like surface 128gb) and then to external HDDs. Makes file management a bit difficult.
Any thought on this refurbished laptop:
