Best Laptop for the money

Posted 14th MarEdited by:"pedropecker"
Hi all I'm looking for a new laptop, I know next to nothing about them apart from how to use it.

I have a limit of £500 and was wondering what would be the best to go for.

I only do basic internet stuff, watch a film now and again, photo editing and word processing, that’s about it.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

Have you ever tried this?best laptop under £500 uk

Not very useful, some are just paid retailers shills and rubbish deals that are not always up to date. This is the best place to ask
Something with an SSD for starters, could your current laptop benefit from an upgrade (to an SSD)

i prefer facts rather than opinions especially those based on only limited information.

Show me a better deal from your google search than the one I posted that has IPS screen, same/better CPU benchmark and M2/NVMe SSD. I'll wait.

It's not IPS, there is big difference between TN and IPS display. No USB C. 2017 build. OP wants to watch stuff/photo editing? IPS is the best possible display.

I wouldn't pay £480 for an i3 unless it came with a 12hr+ battery, touchscreen, and was light as a feather.

not a huge amount of deals going on at the moment for laptops flagged up on the site. a couple of months ago it was flooded.
i just had a look and this seems good for the money right now if the OP's budget is £500.
