I bourght 2 laptops from dixons the other day, in the refubished section.

a philips

and a compaq.

one for me and the missus, we use them for surfing the net, watching movies, downloading.

We paid about £300 for the them each, they were both dual core, 2gb ram, 160GB hard drive.

They come with a 12 month warranty too,

We have gone over them with a fine tooth comb and can't see any faults, dead pixels etc.

We are well chuffed, as they sell these lappys new for £450-500.

Hi there

I have been spending weeks checking out laptops and I am seriously thinking of buying a Samsung R700. Ebuyer are selling them for £558.79 with free delivery. This one has a 17" screen and the reviews are very favourable. It has an inbuilt webcam and is wireless. Core 2 Duo which is an up to date processor and you will need 2 Gig RAM when running VISTA which is the norm on most new laptops. The only negative points were that the surface of the laptop leaves many little finger prints due to it's shiny exterior and that you can't plug in a camcorder. I don't think you will be able to watch HD DVDs on it and it's not Blu-Ray but I personally would be watching these on my TV anyway.

Hope this helps!!
