Best monitor for Logic Pro X

Looking for a monitor to connect to my Macbook Pro, for music production. Does anybody know the best spec for a monitor? VA or IPS? What about the refresh rate? I won't be doing any gaming, only using Logic. Also, which ports would I need to connect to my macbook. I would prefer a monitor without speakers. Would appreciate any advice. Also, size, not sure if 27 or 34 inch is best? Many thanks
