best monitor for my new gaming build?

I am after a decent monitor for my new gaming pc , i7 6700k, Gigabyte GA-Z170X-GAMING G1, Gigabyte GTX 960 G1 GAMING 4GB GDDR5 Dual Link DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card

My budget is probably up to about £500 will my graphics card deal with 4k gaming or would it be best to go for just a hd gaming monitor?

any advice will be much appreciated

    a 960 wouldn't handle 4k gaming, so kinda rules a 4k monitor out tbh

As above, 4K gaming in any reasonable price bracket is still a while away yet. Also, instead of forking out for a quality HD monitor now, you could consider getting a cheaper HD monitor now, and put the money toward an upgrade later once 4K becomes more realistic.

Only if the machine is exclusively used for gaming. Otherwise it's well worth considering a double DPI monitor for things like improved text quality.

Thank you for the replies I was just a bit confused as the retailer I bought it from says the following:
    Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR)
This innovative feature can delivers 4K-quality images to 1080p displays for exceptional detail and fidelity.

also the nvidea site says 4k is compatible with my card?

So would I be wasting my time spending lots on a monitor?
