If I post an item on eBay and state that it can be collected, should I insist on paypal or cash on collection if the buyer chooses to collect?

Cash on collection!!

Paypal= item not received= refund for buyer as no trackable method!

definatly cash

I would usually expect to pay cash if collecting - especially if higher value goods that I want to check. But if you are worried that the person will biff you and run away with the goods and leave no money, then paypal it is.

Escrow, Paypal, Cheque and Monopoly money.

cash

Cash and have someone with you

Damn forgot to mention that one, nochex and safepay are also pretty good.

I once had someone pay via Paypal as soon as the auction ended who told me he would be coming to collect the next day. I got him to sign something saying that he'd received it just in case he tried anything.

Cash or they may try to claim the money back.

Just ask for cash,
