Best place to get Euro's... this Wednesday?

Found 23rd Oct 2017
Hello helpful people.. My daughter is going to Spain on Friday and I haven't got the the Euros yet. I've tried looking online, I presumed I would be able to just google and go on a compare market kind of place to find the best rate available now but for some reason, I can't find the best rates (possibly me being stupid as I've never done this beforeor panic stricken because my teenage daughter going to another country without me).
So so can anyone recommend the best conversion rate to go for. I'm planning to go to city centre on Wednesday and get it done. Please Help!

Travelex at the airport is usually just as good rate as anywhere else providing you order them before you get there. However, I’m pretty sure you have to show the card that you paid with when you get there so might not work if you was planning on buying them on your card. Failing that the best city centre places tend to be the cash generator or ‘money shop’ type of places. Don’t forget though unless you’re changing thousands of pounds a cent or 2 per pound isn’t going to make much difference

Debenhams exchange is usually very good if not the best.

How much do you want to exchange?

If you've got a Eurochange (eurochange.co.uk/) local then the code VIP2017TM gets you a slightly better rate, they are normally pretty competitive compared with travel agents etc. and you can reserve online and pick up in-store.

Thankyou.. I'll check that, doesn't ring a bell but it's worth checking thanks

Definitely Revolut free for students and you get free travel insurance, Pound to Euro at the exchange rate.

Post Office, Supermarkets, any bank - there is a multitude of places you can get Euros from. Unless you are getting many hundreds of euros the extra benefit gained by shopping around for the best rate isn't worth your time.

Post office is quick and easy

i normally just just use a site like the above , pop in the amount I need and then go down to the best one that I can use. I'm lucky in that husband works in London and a lot of the best rates can be picked up there from various companies, however also have them sent to my addressbut you've left too late for that, so just pick the best rate at a location you can get to.

Don't suppose you know how it works if she withdraws cash or uses her card in a shop in Spain? Do Barclays charge a fee per transaction or if she uses a Barclays machine will it not charge her? I've looked on Barclays site and I can't tell if it means no charge if use Barclays machine.. thanks for your help

You will most definately get charged for cash withdrawel abroad. But may not be alot, however the exchange rate may be low aswell, unless you have a halfiax clarity card.

If you are only getting £120 the rate doesn't really vary that much, especially if you are taking into consideration travelling to said place you where not going to already for something, possible parking charges etc etc. For example using the comparsion tool I'm getting a difference of 1 Euro 38 cent between the best and worst, I'd spend that on petrol driving out of my home town, ok ok maybe even just starting my car lol.
