    Best rate for US dollars?

    Hi there,

Going on holiday tomorrow, and looking to change some last minute cash.

Anyone know the best place to change some £'s to US dollars, like today, lol?

    Thanks.

Whereabouts are you? If in London, the exchange places dotted around the outside of Victoria Station are all pretty competitive and tend to be closer to the actual rate rather than the tourist rate...doesn't help you much if anywhere else in the country though!

if it has to be today,I would reckon either marks and spencers or the post office-post office used to do a better rate if the transaction was more than 500 quid-not sure if that still applies

    Thanks for replies so far.

I'm in Glasgow area, so London based places are a no-go, lol, but M&S an PO are likely options at present.

marks and spencer maybe the best, i think you have to arrange in advance at the post office depending on how much you need

go to silverburn then m8-huge exchange desk upstairs in marks and spencers, and a large post office at the other end of the centre(beside the fountain)

have you looked at travelex online? the online one has a much better rate than just going to a travelex, online you can also choose to collect from a travelex desk in an airport, think you just need to give 24hrs notice?

    tesco have been pretty good
