Best soundbar for £150'ish ?

Found 16th Oct 2014
Hi guys,

using a 42" LG 42LA620V at the moment. However the sound isnt amazing, I am in a very small room at the moment so don't have space for a full cinema surround sound set ...

I watch a ton of movies so I am looking for a decent'ish sound bar for around £150?

I dont mind if the sound bar is longer than the TV etc

Link to TV Model incase it matters -amazon.co.uk/LG-…NB2

Any help? recommendations etc?

Thanks!!

Seems to be best one I have found so far by the way. Would prefer getting it somewhere with next day delivery though

I have it (reviews extremely highly) solid sound and bass mine has broken in and sounds even better. I have a 52" and the soundbase spans the length of the tv stand then tv sits on top. Doesn't look out of place and more practical than a soundbar

So the TV sits on top of this? also seen http://www.amazon.co.uk/Subwoofer-Bluetooth-Connectivity-Compatible-BlackBerry/dp/B00DE5Y4IM/ref=sr_1_4?m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&s=receiver-speakers&ie=UTF8&qid=1413463199&sr=1-4

Kitsound aren't massive I dont think? but I do have a bluetooth speaker from them I used for Iphone and was impressed by the quality. Also seems to review well so who knows?.. The LG I first linked has a seperate sub too.

Comment #4 for pic. Yeah soundbases are built into a flat (ish) base where you rest over equipment on top for convenience, I went with it as they are more practical to me than hoping the height of a soundbar won't be too high and block any of the screen, not to mention the extra space the subwoofer would occupy. Bang for your buck the Maxell is great. Not sure on the Kitsound it's RMS is 60w (presuming thats 2 x 30w for stereo output) doesn't mention subwoofer so I presume it lacks one (2.0) the Maxell is 160w (2 x 30 stereo and 100w subwoofer)
Ah I see ideally one with hdmi would be more useful too I think
How many hdmi do you need? Maxell has bluetooth, optical, 3.5mm and one hdmi with ARC support

Not sure how it works?

Currently I use Xbox one and the TV together..

Xbox and TV both have Plex media server on them.. so I just need the xbox sound and TV sound to come through the soundbar. Is it a case of any sound pushed to TV comes through soundbar?
Yeah that's pretty much how it works. I have optical on mine. Sky and PS4 work perfectly. Only reason why I couldn't use the HDMI as my TV doesn't support ARC and allow pass through.

Optical: tv> soundbar

Any audio connected to audio passes straight to the soundbase

You could always get a HDMI switcher if you needed more than one. It looks good for the price.
