Hi all, I've been wading through all the recommendations for televisions and I'm lost. Can anyone assist please?

What's your main interest, TV & Movies or Gaming ?
    And is there a min/max size ?

TV & movies, and preferably over 40 inches. My beloved Sony KDL Bravia 40 inch has just bitten the white screen of death.

interested in this too, mainly for console gaming and movies

I saw this the other day, if you know a close friend who works for tesco you can save another 10% on top It seems very good value and has good reviews.

If you get the staff discount it's almost £500 for a nice 55" set!

The Sony W805C is getting a bit long in the tooth but its one of the top 3 TV's for gaming and it can be had with a 6 gear guarantee for under £450.

I'd rather spend the extra £20 on a K6300 (which is £440 here).

Most of the interesting TVs at that size start at £530-550 at 49/50" like the Philips 6561 and Samsung KU6400, you can also pick up a refurbished DX700 for £550 from Panasonic's ebay store.

I was only really prepared to pay the £419 because of the 6 year warranty
