Best way to get organised/remember things..!?

Ive decided its time to get organised! Im ALWAYS forgetting things, Ive forgotten Birthdays, to pay bills (resulting in 2 or 3 x £20 late charges!).. I go to buy things at the shop and only buy half of what I set out for! The most recent mistake being forgetting my little ones non uniform day and also sports day.. Unforgivable that one really, seeing as he asked after me But you name it, I'll forget it!

I do have a lot on, and have loads to remember! I write stuff down on calenders but I still seem to forget. I set reminders on my phone but the alarm is pretty quiet on it, so thats next to useless. I leave bits of paper/notes around and still manage to miss them, so the things Ive tried so far are pants!

Should I buy an electronic organizer or something like that, are they even any good?? I really need to sort myself out!

Hopefully I'm not the only person who is useless, so what do you do to remind yourselves!?

if your on the computer a lot use an online calendar. We used to use the yahoo one but I've swapped us over to the nokia one now because it sync's with my Nokia E51.

You can setup reminders and share it with the rest of the family so they can add things too.

Get an android phone, add peoples birthdays to your google contacts and install something like astrid tasks and the pure calender widget and then you'll start to remember things

Dye your hair blonde then you have an excuse8)

I'm good with gadget but I still prefer an diary/organizer and write down things.

I have to agree with Slash, even though I have an iPhone I still have a little notebook that I write everything down in and it goes everywhere with me.

hire a PA

HI IM A PA AND I DONT CHARGE MUCH JUST EAT THE ENTIRE CONTENT OF FRIDGES AND SUP BEER

get a calender with big squares and check it twice a day and last thing at night. Leave your to do list next to the kettle and cross off things that are done.

Thanks for all your replies guys

I think I will go with the calender on my Ipod.. Ive just checked it out and spotted the reminders/alarms you can set days in advance, that seems pretty good to me.. if that fails I'll look into other suggestions (and perhaps a new brain!!).

Cheers

Hi Nikki, to be honest I just use my notepad! I tried my iPhone but failed lol and went back to my faithful notepad. Good luck with which one you decide on.

Blackberry and diary are my life (_;)

Diary is a good idea if a little hard to carry around, plus you might forget it!

Use the calendar app on your iPod Touch, that should work, I used it when I had my iPod Touch to remember my class orders.

second, look up something called GTD (getting things done)

there is an iphone app called toodledo and a website toodledo.com/

it can help manage your to do list.

I have an android phone and use the app got to do which is also a toodledo client. helps loads!
