    mice? where?
Is there no pest control company you can use?

The old way is the best. Set traps. (although cheerios work better than cheese I find)

they feast on the poison! traps are useless, want a deterrent.

    poison!!!

Yep, the good old fashioned mouse trap. We use the end bits of the cheese noone wants/dares to eat but the mice seem to like it. One piece of cheese can be used again and again (once a mouse is trapped) but we find you need to replace it every 3 days or so - maybe they get used to the smell, I'm not really sure.

Are you talking about inside the house or outside?

    If inside - traps.
If outside - make sure all rubbish and food is put in closed bins

You could borrow my cat, lol. She loves a mouse to play with in the morning - it's the highlight of her day. Only thing is you need to clear up the innerds (heart, liver, brain etc) up off the doorstep.

we had a couple of field mice and we were told by pest control cheese is no good, but they love believe it or not chocolate

speak to your local council, they are obligated to come out and do something to stop the spread, we had them a few years ago and the council acted really quickly,

I killed 13 in a work warehouse using cheese. Just don't leave them too long in the trap or everything sticks together. They don't like the non lethal traps for some reason and the death of another mouse near by doesn't deter the dumb animals.

not another bg1 thread surely.....just pm him nudes of urself.........i did the whole "tuck it behind and pretend ur a woman" thing.........he hasnt bothered me since.....hope this helps

this is BG1 :w00t:...it's Brucie btw from GTA4, I reckon he has created a persona based on this character.

mice learn to avoid traps as they see their buddies all squashed and think in their little micey brains - "oooeeer!".
poison works best (as with above comment, your council will have a pest control section that will deal - when i needed help in the past they were very quick and effective) because they eat the lovely slow-acting poison, potter off, feel a bit yucky and then go back to where they feel most comfortable to die. so, they never figure out in their little micey brains that it is the poison that has caused them to become ex-mice.

Correction get a SMART cat. Mines so dumb it brings in the field mice from up back and then lets them go alive!!!!

Traps are good, there is one in my garden shed at the moment so have traps set.
There is also a poison thats suppose to be very good but can't remember the name which was given to my brother by the council chaps to use.

double check before you request a council visit, some charge for dealing with mice, it's only rats they are obliged to deal with.
Depends on the situation but if inside you need to find where they are getting in and seal it, we did that and used humane traps with peanut butter to relocate our family of field mice back to the field then installed one of the ultra sonic plugs and no more since.

Gotta make them think they are better off elsewhere. If your neighbours house is warmer than yours they may head there instead. Remove all food traces. Not easy as they can surv ive on tiny scraps. Cats can be useless. I used to have one that used to bring them in and them just chase them as a game. She would then let them go so the game could start again and look at me saying aren't I clever. Poison is probably the most effective way to clear them but councils do charge these days

chocolate and traps, they are too clever for poison but cannot resist chocolate, like most other animals including you and me.

Seek profesional advice too, they are very difficult to eradicate.

 the think with poison is they couod die around te house and leave a stench, i've killed a few myself by stamping em but need a deterrent not a killer

the fact it's a large terrace maies it easier for em to move around and visit the neighbours, rats have also been spotted outside - lots of filthy premises close by. i've closed lots of holes but they find a way.

does the plug really work then, might invest in one but it'll drain power ?

So you are gonna have to turn your heating off and lock away all food and make them go elsewhere. Only other option if they have already taken hold. They have found somewhere that suits their requirements and its either persuade them to leave or eradicate.

I'd watch if you own a dog and intend to lay down chocolate baited traps as this is poison to canines.

Yep, thats how we got rid of them from our garage ! Peanut butter ina humane trap then set them free in a field (far enough away that thry wouldn't come back !!)

Mouse trap - with Peanut butter in it....worked every time when I was in London! Caught a mouse a day and then the same when we lived above a restaurant in Sheffield!

The pest control guy said Peanut butter is the best thing you can use!

    Personally I hate the stuff!

just read the other posters messages and Peanut gets a few mentions..... maybe the guy was right afterall!

    works a treat

Melt the chocolate and paint it on the mousetrap - that way they have to have a good gnaw at it, and that means the trap is more likely to catch them.

I have terrble probs with them under the car bonnets, and they do not seem put off at all by the sight of their dead friends lying around - I have caught 6 in one night, and often put 20 traps in the engine bay.
