Best way to send a laptop

Wondering the best way to send a laptop, price is important, but more concerned that the service is good and secure, even if it means a slightly higher price

    Thanks

Just been reading about DHL in another thread, think that is them crossed off the list!

i sent a laptop by royal mail nxt day signed for it was expensive, £19.95, but it was insured up to £1000, and it was delivered in less than 16 hours 250 miles away, without any probs

i'd recommend royal mail for £19.95 as well mine got there within the alloted time frame and it can be easier to go post yourself than wait around for a firm to collect)

I work for one of the biggest parcel companies in the uk, use one of the big ones dhl, ups or tnt, you may find smaller companies take your parcel and pass it to them anyway depending on where you send it, take out transit liability insurance, and on the item description dont write laptop put something like technology item or electronic parts, this will disguise it from potential thieves and hide any clues to the contents on the packing, also use good packing material and plenty bubble wrap or other protection inside the box and leave no room so that it cant rattle around inside, as it will get knocked around no matter which company you use.

    Deleted due to error

Really? Didn't know that, as I said I'd used them in the past, so presumably this has happened since?

Thanks to you both, think I will go with royal mail - sounds secure and plenty of insurance (is this included as standard or should I ask?)
