Beware if you use Parcel Monkey you have no cover if they lose your parcel

Be careful if you use Parcel Monkey you are not covered if they lose your parcel.
They have a little con when you sign up.

You must pay the extra payment to get any cover or compensation and when you do so it makes them more expensive than Royal Mail who give you £100 quid cover standard

well if you pay peanuts you get monkeys

I thought that was brought in a while back and already mentioned on here?

    Monkey business ?

I couldn't believe I paid for a 24 hour service which didn't happen and they pointed out their T&C's which say they don't give any refund if they don't give the service you paid for. Find some other agent. I am trying Interparcel at the moment. So far so good.

Standard cover with the RM is £20, £50 for recorded delivery and £500 for Special Delivery.

Sorry i have never heard of them so i wouldn't use them anyway. My advise is buy only items close to your vicinity and pay cash on pick up, nowt can go wrong then can it? :-)

With a name like Parcel Monkey, what exactly did you expect???

They lost a parcel and then said you cannot claim as per there T&C's too ? What a nightmare to deal with and I would avoid and as others say if you pay peanuts you get ?

When using a courier you always need to check what the basic insurance cover is as it's usually low and you pay extra for higher cover.
You were wrong about the RM giving £100 cover as standard and you were wrong about these people giving any cover as standard so the lesson is to do your homework first.
It's not a con just because you didn't research something properly but just assumed something incorrectly.
Hope the lost parcel wasn't too valuable.

Royal Mail do not give £100 Standard Cover lol...

Hermes probably, you can make an account with Hermes easily enough and use them direct

To be honest courier company is mostly to blame, parcel monkey is okay if you use reliable couriers like DPD, UPS etc.
Won't use Hermes, yodel even if they offer for free..

Parcel Monkey used DPD who lost the item then they messed me sound for weeks saying I had to contact DPD and when I did DPD stated parcel monkey had to contact them etc..

They claim you get standard cover up to £20 but parcel monkey will not give you the £20 compensation as when you sign up the T&C's say that you agree to not make any claim etc.... So in my opinion it is a con and these people are a nightmare to deal with?

I would also recommend asking the courier or parcel company what the cover is ? If RM parcel force 48hr do not give up to £100 I stand corrected .

But in future I will always ask the company what cover you actually get?

I use Interparcel, I never buy additional and I have only had one parcel gone missing, paid out £50.00 within 2 weeks, it was pretty prompt - That was the maximum they offer.

We have Biz rates with UKMAIL, their compensation for each package depends on how many KG it is, can't remember how much, but to move up to 500£. we pay extra £4.95 for that.

    DPD are usually excellent.

Actually, in my experience so are MyHermes.

    Yodel?! No thanks.

I miss DHL, they used to be awesome. I don't miss Citylink, they were horrendous.

I think the couriers have upped their game recently, even Royal Mail, with many of them offering email/text updates and time slots.

DPD are my favourites, even though the local courier has his music blaring you can hear him streets away.

ParcelForce are a separate part of the Royal Mail and have their own terms and conditions. So if you say Royal Mail it refers to regular RM and not PF.
