the piece of wood would be much bigger, to hold 2 monitors.

Is that 'deck' more commonly known as a shelf?

You'd need special plasterboard screw type pulg things I imagine, not tried it with that much weight though. Can't you wall mount the screens directly?

DAMNOME

Is that Jean-Luc?

you'll need to know how much each monitor weighs & also the self itself, then get the right plasterboard fixings to hold the shelf up,B&Q will have something for the job, make sure you are not drilling into any electrical or pipe work behind the plasterboard.

Just get a desk?

Or get a man in.

Only work if you buy some legs to support the front ( or if your being flash/weird hang the front from some cables screwed into the ceiling joists) and make sure you use plasterboard fixing at the back or better still find some of the wood uprights to screw into.

i live in a penthouse.

If its plasterboard with upright supports find them and fix into If your fixinf brackets they will need to be about 80% of the width of the board or they will lever out the wall when you lean on it. Legs to the floor on the front would be best
If its plasterboard with block behind you drill all the way through into the block and use long screws
Avoid all electric- pipes run behind plasterboard
Good luck

and u cant afford for somone to do it or better still make it out of something better than plasterboard

what I did was get two x 2drawer metal filing cabinets and laid my massive piece of wood which is laminated kitchen work top across them, so I have wall to wall desk and the filing cabinets either end underneath.

Similar idea is to put together a shelf unit ( i.e. 2 uprights and 2/3 horizontals) the same depth and material as the 'desk' at both ends.

I thought BG1 said he was giving up the persona of a multi millionaire who regularly frequents a deals site?

Or was that someone else?
