depends where you were last night ? brah !

i didnt even mention my RPP 66k+ bmw, im asking a general question.

Up to a point, yes, but beyond that you'll destroy the engine, making the fuel consumption argument moot.

doesn't make much difference in your fiesta 1.1

You should be able to find the answer by taking out your RKK 66p+ BMW and keeping an eye on the display. Just don't watch it all the time or you might have a crash. ;-)

so if i did this, it would affect the engine?

You fix the dent made by a snowball in your 77k BMW yet?

I'm assuming it's not an automatic. If your revs get so low your car starts juddering, yes, expect it to affect the engine.

to an extent yes, but lets face it, low gear, high revs is much more fun

Lol what a waste of a 6 series you are.

1st you want to know if driving gloves improve the cars handling, now you want to know about fuel consumption when your car already tells you?

seriously man, i give you some respect cos you can fill a thread up with responses nearly as good as JFK could, but your mental health cant be in tip top condition to feel the need to make a 'new you' on a deals forum. seriously look out the window, thats whats real.

high revs= high speed = rude boi in dat dere whip

this formula ^ should be applied in all conditions but especially in icey conditions where there is maximum grip on the road to do 100+ on motorways and 50+ on school roads.

hope u sorted ur dash problem out brah

In most cases the formula holds. However not if you are overloading the engine because you are either going to slow or up a gradient. At this point the combustion cannot transmit energy to the transmission efficiently and you will usually see extra smoke coming out the exhaust. This shows the fuel is not being burnt properly and releasing only some of it's potential energy. In most cases if the engine sounds comfortable and has the ability to accelerate with a touch of the peddle you are in a good place for fuel efficiency. Driving smoothly and gently and lack of braking either with the engine or brakes helps. I remember during the massive fuel crisis of the 70's my dad used to work out his routes based not on the purely shortest route, but on the route with the least turns as you expend a lot of energy slowing and accelerating as well as the force of the steering on your engine.
