    584 / 8 =

how would you do this in your head without using calutators.

    50 x 8 = 400
    20 x 8 = 160
    3 x 8 = 24

    answer = 73

    or 8 x 7 = 56 therefore 8 x 70 = 560
    3 x 8 = 24

    answer = 73

i would divide it by 8:-D

    584 / 8 = 73

    Mind Blown

    Calutators sound painful :w00t:

    struggling with your homework again?

    Try 5 divide by 8. Won't go.
Use next number along so 58 divide 8 =7 with 2 remaining

    Carry the 2. 24 divide by 8 =3

    Answer 73.

This explanation sounds clearer in my head.

    The total number of students in 1990 = 155 + 125 + 1475 +1610 = 3365

    The total number of unemployed in 1990 = 155 + 125 = 280

    The percentage of students unemployed in 1990 = (280 / 3365) x 100 = 8.3%

    The answer is 8.3%.

how woud u do this in ur head wtf

lol. i always thought bg1 was just a student or something. he's just a little kid...lol (or just thick as two short planks)

ok, how many 3365 are in 2, none...
    carry the 2.
How many 3365 are in 28, none...
    carry the 28
how may 3365 are in 280? oh dear...

DAMN YOU SCHOOL! That's what you meant by top heavy! =0(

In my day, we were taught how to divide using a pencil and paper...

    You know, work it out?

    23
    x 14

    4 x 3 =12 but its's 2 carry the 1.
    4x2 =8 + 1 = (that was carried over) 9

    so far

    23
    x 14
    -------
    92

    add zero to next line

    23
    x 14
    ------
    92
    0

    Then 1 x 3 = 3 (Even you should know this)

    23
    x 14
    ------
    92
    30

    then 2 x 1 =2.

    23
    x 14
    --------
    92
    230

    92 +230 = 322

    23 x 14 =322 (This is the answer)

Jeez Im bad at explaining but this is how school will want you to do it.

    After school you can just do 23 x10 =230 23 x 4 =92 then add the 2 answers.

    Original Poster

^thanks for the answer but i need its simple like 2-3 lines

    23 x 10 = 230
    23 x 4 = 92
    230 + 92 = 322

    mind blown

Have you your SAT's coming up ?

if you stop blowing your mind you would be able to think maybes?

bit late but easy way to divide by 8 is half the number half again and once more.
    584/2=292
    292/2=146
    146/2=73

    Close, CEO aptitude test.

    584/8 work out whats roughly closest thats easy (80 x 8 = 640, 70x 8 560), so i'd go with 560, then theres 24 left over, 8x3=24 so its 73

Did you really edit that post or did BG tell you to do that? I managed to edit mine all by myself.

BG is an idiot, plain and simple. He also can't spell.

If you think he is able to control a forum and actually think this thread isn't a genuine cry for help then the 4th and 7th words of the second line of this post also apply to you.

*Awaits BG1 to come on and say that he is just 'messing about brah'*
