    Bicycle helmet standards?

I'm looking for a bicycle helmet for my brother and I was wondering if there is anything I should be looking out for in terms of certifications/standards? Are some safer than others?

Theres an EU CE standard for helmets which they have to meet to be sold in the UK

You'll find that as you spend more money fit improves and weight reduces as higher cost materials are used, but once a certain point is reached the differences are negligable.

Fit is crucially important - I personally wouldn't think of buying a helmet "blind" (i.e. online) as comfort can be perfect for one person and headache-inducing for another. An expensive helmet doesn't guarantee any better fit than a cheapo helmet

Spend as much money as you can afford and always look for deals on discontinued colourways/styles from bigger brands.
