not really, the processor takes out all the sludge and **** out of the chip fat once it has been heated up - chemicals put in - washed-polished-washed-polished you end up with a nectar type fuel, it take a couple of days to make a batch ( 100 litres ) in the end there is a very slight smell of fat but you can hardly smell it

You sure all the effort doesn't make it enviromentaly UN freindly, :giggle: like I said its a real good idea tho, better than when ppl chuck it down the sink I keep thinkin about a gas convert but as I only just got back in work I'll have to wait a while.

i think i'm right in sayin that biodiesel has 70% less emissions than normal diesel, the bi-product i think is soap, my father does all the processing so i'm not 100% sure

all the chemicals used in the creation is taken out with the washing of the oil so none of it is burned in the engine

When it was cheaper i used vege oil, untreated.
It worked "ok" but no power when towing.
Best thing was when passengers didn't know I was using it and would comment on how many barbeques we passed.lol

I love the smell of a vegetable powered car :-D

As for biodiesel, i think it is good, but unfortunately my local supplier closed down

Good on a local level, bad on a global scale.

The government tried to enforce more companies to produce BioFuels but are backpedalling like mad now that it seems the world is running out of farming land,The worst thing is the land that is being used to create biofuels is in the most underfed parts of the world,Definitley bad

mate ran his swanky new nissan on it for about 9 months now it needs about 2 grand spening on the fuel pump as the waste fat built up and broke it .he hadnt even had the car a year bought brand new off a forecourt

You can't run modern Renault-Nissan dcis on high levels of biodiesel!
