Birmingham curry house Patiala giving free takeaways to NHS heroes

Posted 26th Mar 2020
City NHS workers are free to collect a care package from the Stirchley venue - including chicken or veg biryani, poppadoms and dips and an onion bhaji.

A five-star curry house in the city is offering free takeaways to our NHS heroes as they battle the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

Stirchley restaurant Patiala announced it would be giving away takeaways from Wednesday, March 25, two days after the country was placed on lockdown with everyone told to stay at home.

Amid the rising death toll, staff wanted to show their appreciation to key workers fighting to save lives.

The restaurant’s workers are cooking up takeaways for health service employees to collect after long shifts risking their lives to save others.
Each ‘care package’ will include poppadoms and dips, onion bhajis and either a chicken or vegetable biryani.

These will be available for collection from the Pershore Road restaurant seven nights a week - or delivered as part of a larger order.

NHS ID will be required, the restaurant added.
