Cyber Monday 2019 - Now live! Deals / Deal leaks and how to find the deals YOU want.

784
Hi all, as many of you know Black Friday 2019 & Cyber Monday is creeping up on us pretty fast, so I've pulled together everything we know - who's expected to take part, how to get alerts for the deals YOU want and so on.

I'll also be listing the BEST deals as/when live so bookmark this thread to keep up!

  • When is Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2019? Black Friday 2019 is 29th November and Cyber Monday is the 2nd December 2019.

  • What is Black Friday? It's the name traditionally given to the shopping day after Thanksgiving in the US, which has long been regarded as the first day of the Christmas shopping season, when retailers release many special offers.

It exploded in popularity as online shopping took off in the 2000s - Black Friday UK soon followed and now is a MASSIVE yearly event for many.

  • What is Cyber Monday? The Monday following the US holiday of Thanksgiving also started being promoted by online retailers as a day for exceptional bargains in the 2000s. Cyber Monday followed suit and is usually one the busiest online days of the year, usually falling just after the last pay day for most before Christmas.

More ways to get Black Friday & Cyber Monday ready!

There is plenty that you can do ahead of time to make sure you are in tip-top shape for the big day

First, read these 10 pro tips and tricks to prepare for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which include setting a budget, tracking retailer offers and how to pay safely. Then...

  • Decide what you want, and try to stick to it...

There will be so many offers around, that it is best to decide in advance what you actually want to buy, to avoid getting too caught up in the excitement and ending up with something that wasn't really on your wishlist. It's not a great deal if you don't actually want it!
  • Do your research

Just because a price drops during Black Friday sale, this doesn't always make something a great deal. Some may not be a bargain they're made out to be...

Take your list of targets and search on hotukdeals to see what the best prices have been over the last few months. You can also try using funky website CamelCamelCamel which lets you search for price history on Amazon as a decent benchmark.

Our predictions of Black Friday and Cyber Monday bargains

It is really difficult to accurately predict the deals we will see - we talk with retailers to get an idea about whether they'll be getting involved or not, but the details of specific products and prices aren't revealed until much closer to the time though.

However, based on what we have seen in previous years, we are happy to share the sort of areas we'd expect to see offers in, and some benchmarks for what good would look like

What Black Friday 2019 deals do we think will be popular?

Games consoles - PS4, Xbox One S, Xbox One X and the Nintendo Switch & Switch

Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation 5 will be released around Christmas 2020, expect some big discounts on the PlayStation 4 console & games this year, as it heads towards the end of its lifecycle (although don't worry, it'll be supported for quite some time yet)

Here are some we saw on Black Friday 2018, so this year they could be even stronger:- PS4 Slim 500GB Red Dead Redemption 2 or Black Ops 4 or Fifa 19 console + Doom + Hidden Agenda £199.85- PlayStation 4 Dualshock 4 controllers under £30

Microsoft and Nintendo won't want to miss out on the action, especially as new models of both the Xbox One (the All-Digital Edition) and Switch (the Lite version) have just launched. So we expect to see- Xbox One Consoles to drop under £150,For the All Digital Edition Xbox to be heavily discounted Offers on the Nintendo Switch Lite following its launch, we reckon it could drop to £150 with one game

Deals on the popular new release games, with Call of duty: Modern Warfare and FIFA 20 likely to hit the sub £32 mark

Currys made a promise on a lot of their items on Black Friday last year, if the price goes lower on Black Friday they'd refund the difference - hopefully they'll do the same this year. Currys also had some strong offers like TASSIMO by Bosch Happy Coffee Machine - Various Colours for £29

eBayusually joins in the Black Friday fun with a cracker - my prediction is a code with 15-20% off either selected sellers or sitewid

Tescousually has an in-store Black Friday promotion - deals we saw last year were TV's, Consoles, Clothing, Home & Living & more

Boots.com usually has big discounts on their Star gifts and the super popular Soap & Glory gift sets e.g Soap and Glory Bath-Time Black Friday Bundle for £40. Superdrug also had some crazy offers, expect more of the same like offer stacks, codes and bundles.

Super strong Sim only deals and some super strong contract phone offers like last year when Fonehouse launched this beauty and the Xiaomi Redmi 6A and Mi Band 3 from Three.

Expect big toy offers from the likes of Argos like 3 for 2 toys and Smyths Toys like £5 off £50 and £10 off £100 spends like last year

adidas likely to have around the same discount as last year with an extra 30% off sale and non sale with free delivery, expect Reebok & Nike will do similar

Costco expected to do another XX off a XX spend - e.g on Black Friday 2018 had £15 off £100 spend

Amazon is likely to have 20% off various warehouse deals, offers on Amazon Prime membership, discounted Amazon Music offers, the usual tech stuff & more

The Amazon Black Friday sale will run for eight days from 00:01 on Friday 22 November until 23:59 on Friday 29 November.

Debenhamsusually get in on the Black Friday week fun and expect heavy discounts on clothing and usually have offers like VAT FREE savings on all fragrances.

Morrisons tends to have in-store offers - on Black Friday 2018 had a 1.5 Litre Magnum of Prosecco for £10

Gearbestwill likely take part again with offers on Xiaomi Electric Scooters, Phones, Mi Bands, Earbuds and so on.

John Lewis & Partnersoften takes part with the usual discounts on gaming, home, electricals - and all with its famous extended warranties.

Halfords usually has something up tts sleeve with discounts ride-on toys, reduced bikes, money off XX spends with vouchers and so on.

Expect discounts on Aukey and Ravpower items including Powerbanks, Car Chargers, Dash cams.

Very informative, thanks. I do find that better deals can be had away from BF though generally (depending on what you are after)
I predict this year's Black Friday is going to be a massive disappointment.

Clever because once your year runs out, you want to renew again for the upcoming sales.I'm after a nest hello doorbell myself. They were £219 recently, but now £229 everywhere (with random offers like 10% off). I'm expecting £179.If you research before and have a price in mind then Black Friday is good. But for random shopping, it is largely disappointing. Amazon usually have a percentage off everything in their warehouse deals too. Which is usually quite good and allows bargains, but you have to dig for them.

Just make sure you do your research on these first. They are an absolute pig to install, had one myself, ended up having to wire in a separate mains transformer for it.

Thanks, yes I've already done some research. I'm actually getting a new front door fitted soon so hope to do at the same time as it should make it easier with drilling holes and alignment. I don't have any doorbell wiring, but Amazon sell plenty of adapters with 5M cables for them so that's the route I'm going down, it seems like the least fussy solution and easy to turn off or replace in the future.
If anyone is after a Frog bike, Winstanleys Cycles has 15% off in their black Friday offers, and free delivery. Not sure how long it will last, it's unusual for Frog bikes to be discounted. I ordered yesterday and delivery will be in the next hour so great service.
I wonder if places like Screwfix or Toolstation do black friday?
I want a planer/thicknesser.
Amazon do them too, maybe something might pop up there?
Black Friday or Boxing day for LG C9 65" ?
Moving to a new house end of this month and need to practically buy every bit of furniture. Any of the big furniture stores do anything for BF (?) - can't recall from memory...
Does Plex do any discounts around black friday ?

Black Friday or Boxing day for LG C9 65" ?

Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
BD is normally the Christmas stock or gift items they couldn’t sell recently.
No one, and I mean no one, buys 2019/2020 65” OLED TV’s as Christmas presents for other people, but if they did and they had the disposable income to do it, they wouldn’t need to wait for a BD sale

Check the net for comparisons, there’s a detailed article out there. One website says b9 wins by 0.1/10. But it also depends what you watch
Hmm, some AO deals now live including LG OLEDB9 55” at £1099. They then list a code for another £100 off but I can’t get it to work. I suspect we’ll see others follow suit in next few days.

I got my washer dryer from AO 2 black Friday's ago so you could look there. Do it over the phone instead of their website though and strike up a good rapport with the adviser. I got the black Friday discount, and and extra £30 discount, then they gave me disconnection of old machine for free, disposal of old machine for free and connection of new machine for free. They also gave me named next day delivery for free too. I wouldn't have got all that via their website, so phone AO if you choose to buy one from them. They gave me the extra £30 discount as I told them I could get £25 cashback on one of the cashback sites at the time. They then said they would honour it over the phone.

It really is quiet overwhelming trying to chose the right washer so many different specs I really don't know which to choose. I'm looking for one between 250-350 ish so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Are you just after a washing machine or a washer dryer? It is very overwhelming but make sure the spin speed is 1400 minimum. Don't go for 1200. The higher the spin, the less drying time for your clothes. Also, choose a machine with a quick wash programme. Machine washing programmes are very long these days so you need to have quick wash options. Look for the rating too. 'A' rating minimum is good. My washer dryer has variable spin speeds and a range of washing programmes. The thing I wish it has it a choice of drying programmes but if you aren't fussed about a dryer, it won't matter. Here is the link for the Beko washer dryer I have.

Black Friday in the UK is crap! Retailers just milk the idea. Look how many have “started early” utter rubbish!

I used to work in retail and no one likes Black Friday. It's a holiday after Thanksgiving in the USA. We have adopted in the UK because we're clown sheep. Black Friday may have the odd good deal, but yes it's a retail disaster day.

I'm looking for a PS4 Pro tbh. I know the PS5 is coming at the end of next year but I'm a PS guy and my current PS4 original needs a break after God knows how much play time.

Hi, I like getting a lot for my money so I would probably get this Beko washing machine. It has a lot of features for the price. It is 8Kg so can accommodate a good washing load and a 1600 spin which is good. It also has an 'A' rated spin performance. A+++ energy rating, and quick daily wash and super short wash programmes. It has variable temperature and variable spin speeds. It has a steamcure program that Beko claim takes creases out if clothes so less ironing. These Beko machine have smart inverters so they are quiet. Good if you're in an open plan. Plus it has bluetooth so you can attach your smart phone and monitor and control your machine from it. You can also download programs to it and update your machine. It has all of the features I'd be looking for. Only drawback is that it doesn't come with a 5 year warranty like the Samsung ones but you could use the money you save to get that with it, if it is something you wanted. It does come with a 10 year motor warranty though but not for anything else. It has better features than the Samsung machine I sent you yesterday that it £100 more. Just depends on if you like more expensive brands etc. I'm happy with my Beko washer dryer.

I'm happy with my Beko washer dryer. https://ao.com/product/wr860441w-beko-washing-machine-white-70050-1.aspx

Wow thanks for your input. Who'd have thought buying a washing machine was so stressful! I'll pass your comments on to the wife as luckily I'm not allowed to use the washing machine... I just get the joys of paying for it thanks again!!
Can’t decide whether to use the current voucher code on Dell or what for Black Friday :/
Really hoping that John Lewis, Made furniture and Ring doorbells are going to discount heavily.

Yes, it is stressful. Certainly not as enjoyable as buying other gadgets. I'm more of a cooking and baking gadget fan myself. Washing machines have changed a lot over the years. There are lots of features to think about. Good luck in your quest. Don't forget, if you buy from AO to do it over the phone and push for discounts.
