I'll also be listing the BEST deals as/when live so bookmark this thread to keep up!

  • When is Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2019? Black Friday 2019 is 29th November and Cyber Monday is the 2nd December 2019.

  • What is Black Friday? It's the name traditionally given to the shopping day after Thanksgiving in the US, which has long been regarded as the first day of the Christmas shopping season, when retailers release many special offers.

It exploded in popularity as online shopping took off in the 2000s - Black Friday UK soon followed and now is a MASSIVE yearly event for many.

  • What is Cyber Monday? The Monday following the US holiday of Thanksgiving also started being promoted by online retailers as a day for exceptional bargains in the 2000s. Cyber Monday followed suit and is usually one the busiest online days of the year, usually falling just after the last pay day for most before Christmas.

More ways to get Black Friday ready!

There is plenty that you can do ahead of time to make sure you are in tip-top shape for the big day

First, read these 10 pro tips and tricks to prepare for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which include setting a budget, tracking retailer offers and how to pay safely. Then...

  • Decide what you want, and try to stick to it...

There will be so many offers around, that it is best to decide in advance what you actually want to buy, to avoid getting too caught up in the excitement and ending up with something that wasn't really on your wishlist. It's not a great deal if you don't actually want it!
  • Do your research

Just because a price drops during Black Friday sale, this doesn't always make something a great deal. Some may not be a bargain they're made out to be...

Take your list of targets and search on hotukdeals to see what the best prices have been over the last few months. You can also try using funky website CamelCamelCamel which lets you search for price history on Amazon as a decent benchmark.

Our predictions of Black Friday and Cyber Monday bargains

It is really difficult to accurately predict the deals we will see - we talk with retailers to get an idea about whether they'll be getting involved or not, but the details of specific products and prices aren't revealed until much closer to the time though.

However, based on what we have seen in previous years, we are happy to share the sort of areas we'd expect to see offers in, and some benchmarks for what good would look like

What Black Friday 2019 deals do we think will be popular?

Games consoles - PS4, Xbox One S, Xbox One X and the Nintendo Switch & Switch

Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation 5 will be released around Christmas 2020, expect some big discounts on the PlayStation 4 console & games this year, as it heads towards the end of its lifecycle (although don't worry, it'll be supported for quite some time yet)

Here are some we saw on Black Friday 2018, so this year they could be even stronger:- PS4 Slim 500GB Red Dead Redemption 2 or Black Ops 4 or Fifa 19 console + Doom + Hidden Agenda £199.85- PlayStation 4 Dualshock 4 controllers under £30

Microsoft and Nintendo won't want to miss out on the action, especially as new models of both the Xbox One (the All-Digital Edition) and Switch (the Lite version) have just launched. So we expect to see- Xbox One Consoles to drop under £150,For the All Digital Edition Xbox to be heavily discounted Offers on the Nintendo Switch Lite following its launch, we reckon it could drop to £150 with one game

Deals on the popular new release games, with Call of duty: Modern Warfare and FIFA 20 likely to hit the sub £32 mark

Currys made a promise on a lot of their items on Black Friday last year, if the price goes lower on Black Friday they'd refund the difference - hopefully they'll do the same this year. Currys also had some strong offers like TASSIMO by Bosch Happy Coffee Machine - Various Colours for £29

eBayusually joins in the Black Friday fun with a cracker - my prediction is a code with 15-20% off either selected sellers or sitewid

Tescousually has an in-store Black Friday promotion - deals we saw last year were TV's, Consoles, Clothing, Home & Living & more

Boots.com usually has big discounts on their Star gifts and the super popular Soap & Glory gift sets e.g Soap and Glory Bath-Time Black Friday Bundle for £40. Superdrug also had some crazy offers, expect more of the same like offer stacks, codes and bundles.

Super strong Sim only deals and some super strong contract phone offers like last year when Fonehouse launched this beauty and the Xiaomi Redmi 6A and Mi Band 3 from Three.

Expect big toy offers from the likes of Argos like 3 for 2 toys and Smyths Toys like £5 off £50 and £10 off £100 spends like last year

adidas likely to have around the same discount as last year with an extra 30% off sale and non sale with free delivery, expect Reebok & Nike will do similar

Costco expected to do another XX off a XX spend - e.g on Black Friday 2018 had £15 off £100 spend

Amazon is likely to have 20% off various warehouse deals, offers on Amazon Prime membership, discounted Amazon Music offers, the usual tech stuff & more

The Amazon Black Friday sale will run for eight days from 00:01 on Friday 22 November until 23:59 on Friday 29 November.

Debenhamsusually get in on the Black Friday week fun and expect heavy discounts on clothing and usually have offers like VAT FREE savings on all fragrances.

Morrisons tends to have in-store offers - on Black Friday 2018 had a 1.5 Litre Magnum of Prosecco for £10

Gearbestwill likely take part again with offers on Xiaomi Electric Scooters, Phones, Mi Bands, Earbuds and so on.

John Lewis & Partnersoften takes part with the usual discounts on gaming, home, electricals - and all with its famous extended warranties.

Halfords usually has something up tts sleeve with discounts ride-on toys, reduced bikes, money off XX spends with vouchers and so on.

Expect discounts on Aukey and Ravpower items including Powerbanks, Car Chargers, Dash cams.

I quite like him
Very informative, thanks. I do find that better deals can be had away from BF though generally (depending on what you are after)

Anything that helps me pay for Christmas this year will help ;-)
I'm after an Asus Zephyrus GX502GW at a price that doesn't make we want to cry a little..

Keeping fingers crossed for BF deal.

Just companies off loading their old stock & people getting in a frenzy buying stuff that they wouldn't ordinarily buy.

I only buy particular things I need that on Christmas lists
last year was Nintendo switch
this year air pods if he wasn’t asking and wouldn’t be looking to buy

The price lasted less than 48hrs and on BF it was still £150 more than I paid for it. Last year retailers seemed worried they were going to miss out with the competition so many started early, hit their targets early and on the day itself prices were slightly higher

Really that’s what I’m worried about .. if I see a good deal a week or so before I might just buy it it can always be returned.

If you brought something the week before and returning it Black Friday weekend and it doesn’t have a fault etc then they know your doing it to get it cheaper

plus so busy with sales they won’t refund
so unless it’s physically faulty you have to wait few days if you still want or refund if they do refund you then most likely a credit voucher instead

Most shops have a satisfaction guarantee (30-day money back guarantee) and they can't go against consumer rights or force you to accept vouchers.

I'm hoping for a Shark vaccum at a good discount.

I got mine on last years black friday on Amazon, was already reduced but they added an extra 20% off warehouse and I got mine for about £114 and still love it. Only thing wrong was a tatty box
Black Friday doesn't make sense in the UK. It is the day after Thanksgiving in the US. We don't have Thanksgiving. Ergo, nonsense.

I rang their customer service last week because I’m looking to get one also .. the advisor strongly recommended me waiting for Black Friday as they’ll be having really good deals on the website
mrsproudley29/10/2019 15:44

Unless it’s faulty they won’t take it back on Black Friday

They 100% will. What imaginary world are you living in? You have a certain period of time where you can return any goods purchased online or by phone after the initial purchase according to EU and UK laws (MINIMUM 2 WEEKS). You don't have to give reason why. Don't embarass yourself, you are part of HUKD, you must know better. If you got scammed by some small shady shop then you've learned something new today. Also please note - this is valid for online/phone purchases only. If you buy TV from the store they may indeed decline a refund but almost no self respecting retailer will ever do that.

You’d be surprise how many don’t follow that I know someone that taken a well known brand to court as a pair of shoes she wore for an hour fell apart and are refusing to refund or replace said shoes she claimed back through her credit card and they have countered it so now she taking it to court

You are wrong again or you don't know the whole story. Every single shoe has 30 days warranty period. Every product purchased online has minimum of 2 weeks return period, no fault needed. Perhaps she/he had the same pair but already worn out and played it cheeky? As I mentioned in my other reply to you - don't be a sheep and believe everything people say - learn your own customer rights.

Looking out for Nintendo Switch deals, especially with the Lite coming out, as I haven't seen anything remotely decent recently...

I do know the whole story and this company starting to get a reputation where it’s a franchise of the the main company and they have been refusing refunds and replacements
they refused to refund her they told she wore them so can’t be returned even tho she has thrown all the reading standards and consumer laws at them coz they weren’t budging she went via her credit card they countered so got there money back so now trading standards have told her to take it to court

said shoes were worn for an hour and the heel fell off they turned round and said they aren’t made for wearing it’s a shoe sold as a shoe

Don’t misguide people! Statutory and consumer rights protect people from such gimmicks which says you can’t return. If you have been said No in the past then sorry you should have been much more stronger to assert your rights!
Black Friday deer?

She sounds like she has a good case, (not fit for purpose, not satisfactory quality and didn't last a reasonable length of time)

Is it just me that every black Friday, says next year I will save money to buy stuff then doesn't bother
I am after a iPhone 11 very a good deal but some said last year £150 cash back, so waiting
A really important/useful tool is camelcamelcamel.co.uk so you can see if something really is a bargain
Every year certain sites just crash with the high demand of browsers eg. GAME and Smyths. I have learnt to be patient as Amazon are extremely clever and look at sites like these and instantly match the price. Go straight to Buy Now no fussing or queuing and delivered next day (Prime members of course) Roll on BF, not to everyone’s taste but good if your looking for certain things. Happy Buying peeps
Most of the best deals are now usually before Black Friday. If there's something you really need you most likely find it cheaper before Black Friday.

I wish that the whole of Black Friday will disappear as the discounts are not great and it just pushes too many companies into endless discounting which then drives lots of them out of business.
I'm holding out for a 50 inch LCD 720i HD Ready, non Smart Asda Polaroid TV or a Blaupunkt one from Tesco.
I'm sure I saw them dusting the boxes off today in store
Why are you asking me? I dunno.
Can’t stand Black Friday! It’s American and they do it properly. It’s the first Friday after thanksgiving- we don’t celebrate thanksgiving! Also, instead of bargains, the shops sell their rubbish items, mostly brands you have never even heard of. Don’t get me wrong, love Black Friday-but in America. Another thing brits try to copy and get very very wrong

Lol she defo has a case they think there bully tatics will stop her from perusing

there now saying that the shoes are for show pieces not designed to be worn for long lengths of time tho doesn’t state anywhere on website this is the case and the whole uc community know that it’s crap

the shows are becoming more expensive and the quality becoming crap like everything else in this world
Thank you, very informative post.
Thanks, hopefully theres a deal on MacBook Pro
