OH has decided he wants a Blackberry on Contract, and cos he's working its me thats looking into it. I have absolutely nooooooo idea what I'm looking for. He will use it primarily for texting and pictures and occasionally Internet use. No more than £35 per month on Contract.

I'm confused when looking on the Orange website - some of them are data only contracts?
Normally this stuff don't faze me but today I'm lost.
Help!!

The question is, if that's all he want it for, why does he want a Balckberry ?
There used mainly for push email (the email is received and pushed to the phone). If he's not using that there's not a lot of point paying out for a BB when there are lots of other phone that'll do what he wants ??

Yes you need a huge data bundle the phone's on the net 24/7 checking the server for email, there on a BB plan (Bis).

I asked him exactly the same question - but he's adamant that that's what he wants.

I am sure Vodafone were doing the 35 quid deal for Vodafone Storm!!

Chk them out..

Aj

just a matter of picking a model he likes and matching it to a plan he wants to pay for then. Dolphin 35 on the Orange website is 30 quid at the mo, can't check more the sites down for maintenance at the mo.

I would say, and I hope you don't take this the wrong way !, I know a few people who've had BB and then just couldn't get on with them. Remember, you've only got 7 days to change your mind under the distance selling regs. . .

Cheers - I'll take another look at the Orange website.

Yup - I've told him that - and also it means no more phones for at least 2 years, made him think about it for a while before i agreed to look.

I've got the Blackberry Curve on Vodafone, pay £45 a month. My contract is for £35 which gives me 500 minutes and unlimited texts (I think lol). I pay an extra £10 a month for the push email bolt-on which basically gives you the ability to receive your emails like texts and your internet use.

If I didn't need the push emails for work I wouldn't need to pay the extra £10.

But, one thing to bear in mind regarding the new Blackberry Storm- if he's wanting it for emails and he's like me and types really fasts he might notice the keypad skipping a few letters as it's touchscreen. I've heard from a friend at Phones4u that the older style phones such as the Curve, the Bold and the Pearl are better for speed typing.

But, I'd go for it. I love mine
