it does say u need a data plan which i believe is internet ? which she doesnt have only texts and minitues ? soz just a bit confused my other daughter is on orange contract and has to pay £5 a month for her bb messenger

you need a blackberry data plan to use bb messenger, which usually costs £5 'extra' with most networks.

This might help. It does say there are plans on 'Pay Monthly' with Unlimited Web Access (don't know what the fair usage limit is), and also on 'Pay as you go' depending on how much you top-up (or it also mentions the unlimited Mobile Internet access at the bottom of pay as you go page).

that's different i think, the normal web access doesn't cover bb messenger, your best bet is to keep calling virgin mobile and try and talk to someone who might know.

That's very odd of them - if somebody wants internet, just give them the internet package, why limit it just to a browser.

yeah, orange do that, that's how I know the normal internet doesn't cover bb messenger or bb email.

yes have seen that they do sim only plans where you can have unlimited internet on virgin but this doesnt include bb messenger am i right ?

that's right unless you talk to virgin and see what they can do like swap the unlimited internet to blackberry internet for free.

That's how Blackberrys work, you need a Blackberry plan to be able to use … That's how Blackberrys work, you need a Blackberry plan to be able to use the extras. I know O2 will let you swap your normal internet for the blackberry one (my sister had neither and O2 just added it for free anyway).

Ah I see. I have never owned a Blackberry, so was unaware of this. Good to know, finally though.
