Bluetooth Hands Free Problem

I've just bought a car which has the Nokia Wireless Car Kit CK-1W already installed. I tried to pair my phone to this, and it finds the car kit ok. However, it asks for a passcode. I've tried the usual '0000' and also '1234', but to no avail. I've googled this and all I can find so far is that the bluetooth code is on a card that came with the original box.

If I hard reset the unit, i'm assuming the bluetooth code won't change... any suggestions as to how to get around this problem??

i dont have a BT handsfree but have paired my BT devices ok.

i thought before you pair it would ask you to key in a pass code from the originating BT device (ie you make it up, it's good for one go so you dont really need to remember it after pairing is successful). then the 2nd device will ask what that code is (you key in same code).

    hope that helps.

Tried that but apparantly Nokia have default codes from factory, which are printed on the box they come in.... but I don't have the box!…412
"You need to enter the passkey which is as default either 0000, 1111, 2222 or 9999."
