Rear wheel drives are never good in snow I am afraid.

Get the wife to push

take some air out of the tyres .. other than chains it's the only thing you can do

Oh and put some weight in the boot.. a couple of bags of sand should do it

or get the wife to push

good for a laugh at least

STAY IN BED! Thats my advice anyway. Oh - and sell the car - its pants!

If you have not yet had the BMW lobotomy ... bin it !!:w00t:

if you have to go out put some weight in the boot as mentioned above. but I would just stay at home

use the highest gear possible and lowest revs.. try and slow down without using brakes too much.. expect stopping distance to be increase by 10 fold

Yes agreed, try to take off in 2nd using minimal revs and steering...going downhill use low gears as brakes...but only if you HAVE to go out

Park it up and get back in bed! Don't even bother, you will probable loose it on the 1st bend on get stuck on the smallest hill.

As stated - give up. When driving there are loads of beemers in ditches or smashed up the kerb.

They are completely useless in the snow. As is any rear wheel drive car.

Dump the clucth and boot it :whistling:

If you put your foot down and you see the back of your car out your side window, it's probably a rear wheel drive.

No offence but you really dont know much about driving do you !!

Get some "mud and snow" tyres with the appropriate speed rating - I use them because of frequent trips abroad but they are fine year round in the uk. Currently on Hankook Ice-Bears but I've also had Toyo Snowprox - both are excellent and give lots of help in snow and ice and also give increased grip in wet conditions.

I can voice for the Toyo Snowprox tyres, I picked up a new set of alloys after my missus curbed two of mine, and rather than waste them I had some Toyo winter tyres put on the old set.
That combined with the skills I picked up on a snow driving course in Finland, means I have been able to get everywhere I have needed to get to , and had a bit of fun practising Scandinavian flicks.

Yeah you put plutonium into it and you it flies I bet :-D

2 large bags of cement in the boot will help push the back wheels down and give a bit more grip.Or the wife and kids just put weight in the boot.

If you don't know that, you really shouldn't be driving.

won't make much difference - its RWD and therefore trying to push itself up hills etc, rather than pull.
