Main dealer visit to reset code!

^^^ This............and if it's a sensor fault then look forward to a £200 or so bill.

Depends on the fault.........if it's just come up from an badic error then it's fine. However if the sensor is faulty then the airbag/s might not deploy in a crash.

Well she has basically just got the car.It was on when she had it.Everything else is perfect.Hope its not bad as we thought it was something minor tbh!

Right....

What you need to do is take the car to a BMW dealer or a local indi specialist who have the correct diagnostic equipment.

The airbag light can come on for many reasons from a break in circuit to a sensor failure.

Reading the codes and noting the fault followed by a reset may/should clear the problem depending on issue.

One of the common reasons for the airbag light coming on, on a used car is due to the sensor under the seat getting knocked and breaking the connections.

PLEASE NOTE - When the airbag system has recorded a fault, the full system (most times) is disabled.
