Book Printers - Any advice?

I am putting together a book on my Dad's life and I need a printer. I have done loads of stuff with design and printing but never had a hardback book printed before.

Anyone know anyone who is any good.

A long shot, but thought I would ask.

IF it's just one copy or two, and it's about 20-26 pages ... why not take advantage of the 'photobooks' offer 2 for 1 on Photobox. Just beenlooking for photo mug offers and came across this.

Cheers but was looking at getting about 250-500 and will prob be about 200 pages too!

have you tried the yellow pages?

I know people (students) who have printed their stuff out using a laser printer and 100g/m2 weight paper and then taken it to a book binders. the binders are plain hard back books with a title on the spine.

Not sure if you want a book type cover (images, blurb etc) or just a plain "this is your life" style hard back book

colour laser printer is good, we have one in our office konica minolta magicolour.

digital prints might be another alt. check with printers how much it will cost to run 200-250 pages. i know when we print say 200 pcs of the same thing it's about £65, not sure if it's a book but surely it just comes as push one button to print. make sure you leave a little space for hard cover binding.
