Books I just should have read?

Ok, I'm trying to find some books to read, and I fancy reading some classics.

I've read some of the obvious ones, 1984, Lord Of the Flies... but I know there are many many more I just should have read by now....

But I can't think of many.

    Helpppp

Catcher in th Rye by J D Salinger!!

    Beckers ring.

Concrete Island by JG Ballard was quite an odd book following an architect who smashes his car off the motorway and becomes trapped on a traffic island down the embankment, Iread the cover thinking what the hell can happen to sustain a book stuck on there so intrigued I read it and it was quite good.
