Specsavers specialise so can offer huge discounts. They are a lot better in my opinion than Boots are offer a great service.

if you have the prescription, you can get far more cheaper thru online shops even for designer glasses- there are so many of them: glassesdirect.co.uk/ (even i consider it still pricey)

Specsavers, definitely - much better value for money.

My daughter has used Specsavers for years, never had any problems and as Choc said they just specialise in glasses and lenses so hence the difference in price.

as do boots opticians:?
comparing the exact same lenses between the two companies there isnt really any difference...price will change on the quality of lens and thickness.
my reccomendation is go where you feel comfortable and where you find the best frames:thumbsup:

Get your eyes tested from wherever you feel comfortable, get your prescription, then shop around.
Asda opticians, if you have one near you offer great deals.

worryingly specsavers and vision express have both got my prescription wrong during an eye test and i've had to go back and get it redone after i've almost thrown up wearing the incorrect glasses

Asda don't charge extra for thin lenses and are much cheaper
