Hi People, I'm planning on doing my first ever bootsale tomorrow. I'm mainly being selling DVDs, cds, books, games and few blu rays & HD DVDs. So should, I price things up before hand or haggle on the day?
Any advice is welcome.

Thanks

i did my first one a few months ago and I priced everything up first, only so I had a starting point. Otherwise people will come up and ask you what the price is and you will waste time thinking about the prices rather than have a point from which people can haggle.

Sloth/Mod

Price things up beforehand which will then save you needing to understand 35 foreign languages and deciphiring the words............."How much?" "I give you 5p ya?" & "Too much, only have 50p" :-D

I wouldn't bother...Take them to a charity shop and feel good...They are full of foreigners wanting something for nothing. You will waste all day and come home with £30 after costs. If you do it you won't do it again, you could be down the pub having a nice Sunday Roast and a pint instead but good luck if you do

I agree with what gr8 has said to be honest its a lot of work for nothing and everyone wants something for nothing!!!!

Give it go once, it can be a pain in the bum, but then if you make £100 you can spend on something you really want, it maes it all worthwhile.

As it's your first one, I would definately price everything up first, try to be realistic (In good condition DVDs about £2, Books and CDs just don't sell very well, about 50p - £1.00 tops).

Also if you've got a load of 'rubbish' chuck it all in a big box marked 'Everything 10p/20p', It's amazing how many people will rumage through and buy something that you thought was junk! ;-)

Its mainly people from eastern europe who want it for pennies, just say know. Price everything to sell. Dont bring anything that is left home, put it in a charity bin/bank on the way back. I made about £300 selling records, some retro game consoles, childrens clothes etc:)

sammy and his h lol

best to visit a couple of local boot sales first, then you can see what the standard of buyer is like and pick which one you sell at accordingly(aviod the ones where there are lots of eastern europeans etc)

some areas and boot sales are better for sellers than others

i regularly go to them, im up at 5am.
Without being racist, or fascist, there are a lot of Indians and Eastern European people there.

I've been and done many car boots, you have to be tough with your prices.

But then you dont want people to walk away, thus taking the item back home.
