i think thats a pretty good price  you certainly didnt get ripped off, i think if you found a similar spec cheaper than it would prob only be 10-15 quid cheaper

Worth it imo - the warranty alone is great with Dell, so good price.

seems a lot to me. Got an acer t7600 2.1ghz for £320 in october (although on-board gfx and only 2gb ram)

then again, you did get a 3 year warranty...............

sure you could do better if you wanted tbh.....pretty standard other than the 2mp camera

The spec isn't that fancy although if you factor in the three year warranty it's very good value for money.

Yes and no, there's no definition of how long some of the mechanical devices such as hard drives or optical drives can be expected to last. If you have the warranty you can get the machine fixed next day no issue for a NBD warranty however trying to claim under the Sale of Goods Act can take months and months. I have successfully taken the latter route but it was a long time to get it sorted out and a lot of arguing.

i dont think you can start breaking down a pc into specific parts mate......it's bought as a whole and i would expect a laptop to last a lot longer than 3 years, extended warranties of this are an expense not needed other than conveinece which shouldnt be what its about

It can be broken down into specific parts whether you think it or not, some parts may not last as long as three years which are outwith Dell's control entirely - it's not the automatic 5/6 year warranty some people seem to treat the sale of goods act as.. Additionally the extended warranties are normally onsite which Dell are under no obligation to provide for a repair under the sale of goods act which can be a lengthy return to base.
