Bought some milk in asda yesterday...

and just gone to use it and the use by date is 21st July (yesterday). It wasn't reduced or anything, so should i take it back?
p.s it has been used on my little boys cereal(before i realised it was out of date!)

NO WAY quick phone the doctors... No it will be fine, Milk isn't out date because a label says it is and you eat cheese?

They sold you an in date product.

No you bought it while it was still in date, lesson to learn=check date … No you bought it while it was still in date, lesson to learn=check date before you buy:)

I normally do check, but as its the summer hols i was quite stressed shopping with 2 children!!

I think you would know if it was off, it would smell and start to resemble cottage cheese lol even then it wouldn't do any harm

I would take it back.

I bought a loaf of bread last week from Tesco, without realising it had a short shelf life (went mouldy the day after I purchased it). Returned it back to the store 2 days later and got a refund without any hassle.

it should have a sell by date aswell as the use by date, are you sure you're not looking at the sell by date?

As long as it doesn't smell or has curdled into lumps I'm sure your kid will be fine

I always get caught out with this at my local Morrissons, buying bread and then realise it's green with mould... lesson learned - check the date on the labels from now on lol

Make a rice pudding wih it.

It's not as if milk is likely to go off at 12:01 am on the 22nd July, or even lunchtime that day. You'll be able to taste/smell if it's beginning to turn and even then it'll be OK - just taste funny.

What IS yoghurt, anyway?

Puree up some strawberries or fruits of the forest and mix in. Add some sugar (if you're a wimp)

| bought some milk at 5 am from ASDA this morning .. its lush with my tea:thumbsup:

i always judge milk by smell, if your fridge is cold enough then it will last a few days after the use by date

if your milk is grumpy and under the weather .. it could be off:w00t:

who is this Sue ... is she nice :w00t:

Oh My God!
Off to Asda to see if they have any other bargains rather than the out of date / in date milk... Surely while you were there you could not find a bag of crisps reduced or a pack of Jaffas with 20p off to come back and post like everyone else does on this site...
This site scares me sometimes....
There is not even the option to vote this deal cold!!

"All tongue in cheek"

I think the OP is milking it ..........................

its best to check the milk dates, i'd not i'd just grab anyone  kid'll be ok :santa:

When checking the bread dates, the number in the brackets indicates the number of days the bread should be reduced before taking it off the shelf. (Well, this was the case when I worked in Tesco a few years ago!)
