Bought the SSE Ultrafast Broadband Deal, wish I hadn't!

Well I bought into the amazing SSE £21 a month ultrafast fibre bb and phone deal and was connected last wed. Lasted 24 hours then went off. 4 calls and 3 hours on phone and 'fault raised via BT openreach on my behalf'. It came back on yesterday at 6pm, at 6pm today it went off again!! Still off!!! Right when I really need reliable BB due to son doing A Levels and needing Internet! NOT impressed up to now at all! Anyone else having same poor experience with SSE??

OK here apart from the weak wifi from the box

    hi,
I took out the same ultra fast fibre Internet with SSE as you, was installed around 12 days ago, I get maximum downloads speeds of 91 Mbps (upload around 19 Mbps), much higher than I was quoted originally.

Didn't the engineer check your speeds before he/she left?

I agree with "markvirgo" the wifi signal is weak from the router but using the 5G wifi connection is better I found than the 2.4.

Theres no way your getting a 'stronger' signal with 5ghz over 2.4. You're most likely just not getting as much interference from other WiFi networks. 5ghz has only half the range and penetrating power of 2.4ghz.

Yeah it worked perfectly for the first 24 hours, then went off for two days then came back on for 24 hours then off again...

call them and cancel your contract while you can i had similar issue with plusnet however they refused to cancel even though i was on my 3rd day they are so dougy they count the contract from the day we place an order and not from the day they install which is always after 14 days

I didn't say I had stronger signal. I've placed my router in a centralised position at my home near the ceiling of the ground floor, this gave me a much better wifi coverage.

I've ran numerous speed tests and I definitely get much better download and upload speeds on the 5 ghz, this maybe because many things interfere with the 2.4 ghz.

If your problem persists, SSE should send an engineer or at least replace your possible faulty router.
