When it comes to things like your brakes I'd say new is the only way.

Don't buy from a breakers yard, the car could be there because of failed brakes.

As far as I am aware pads can not be purchased for a single wheel, even if they could you should change all the pads/discs on the same axle, as different pads could cause the car to pull to one side.

If you have vastly uneven brake wear, you need to find out the cause of this.

Yep, definitely wouldn't go for 2nd hand pads for the sake of £20

Okay thanks.

Im skint you see so trying to go cheap.

In the last 2 weeks..

My exhaust back box went
Window wiper motor broke
and now brakes

I agree, for the price u better of puitting newe on as the bed into the discs quicker than trying to put on old discs.

That's the joy of cars.

You might be skint, but it's better than being dead if your brakes fail

I feel for you, my battery died, then the brakes and finally the gearbox.

But seriously it's better to sell some stuff or ask someone for some cash than to risk your life and other peoples.

Brakes are probably the most important part on a vehicle, If you can't stop correctly then you risk your own and other road users safety.

General advice is if you go anywhere near the brake pads then you should change them, If they become contaminated then theirs the chance your brakes could fail, Burn out etc.. You should always change both sides to ensure even wear and even braking.

Should always use new pads

Try your "Yellow Pages" Look under 'Car accessories", and give 1 or 2 a call.

I don't know if you live in a city, but independents are always cheaper than Halfords where I live.
