Brandalley - placed an order and now they wanting more info - Update
Thank you for placing an order No #....... with BrandAlley. On this occasion we need to carry out some added security checks to ensure safe payment.
For us to complete your order, please send us the following two items:
* A photocopy of your passport or photographic ID card
* Proof of your address for the past three months
As anyone had this before when ordering with them ?
I placed an order last night for £400 and this came in an email this morning. I'm not sure if I should even bother, seems a bit dodgy so asking anyone if they had it before with them ?
It was my 1st order with them too.

EDIT: They will probably want payment in advance if you refuse the credit checks/account set up.
To be honest I can't be bothered with it, my passport round at my Mums and I can't be bothered to dig out papers, I've only moved into my current address last month.
Heres one thread
pcadvisor.co.uk/for…r=1
as it's your first order
Have you moved house recently and not yet changed your bank details?
Do you want the item shipped to a different address to the billing address?
I think I'll not bother,I've got enough to do without going through papers and stuff at my Mums house.
Have you put £400+ orders through as first orders to those companies since moving though?
You can't really blame companies from protecting themselves against chargebacks, its a pain but I can understand why they do it.
you would if you were a merchant and knew the risks
If they're worried why don't they say they will wait until they have the payment and then dispatch the goods. I don't like the idea of giving someone a copy of my passport etc just to back up a payment. Having said that I've used Brandalley a few times and they've been fine.
Yeh I have,I'm always using new websites,I've known about Brandalley for ages but this was 1st time for them, and I've done it in past at other addresses too,new customer with newish address for a large amount. Usually at the most I may get a call from the Credit card company asking if the transactions are mine if I've been spending a fair bit,but not a problem with the websites themselves.
It's too much hassle,I've emailled them saying cancel order,it's not the only handbag in the world so I'll wait till I see something else another time.
you can chargeback up to about 90 days, so unless you are happy waiting for 3 months its not really an option
