    Breadmaker

    Hi
Any good deals on breadmakers at the moment? Am thinking of a Panasonic (read many good reviews about it) or Morphy Richards.

Hi, I have a Panasonic breadmaker, bought it 2nd hand when it was about a year old and it had been regularly used, I have had it a couple of years now and couldn't be more pleased with it, I use it 3/4 times a week. They definately have the best reviews. My friend has recently bought a new one & is v pleased.
Only down side of mine is that it deosn't have a fruit dropper, I can still mak things like fruit loaf, but have to hang around waiting for it to "bleep" (& have missed it a few times...!), will definately get one with a fruit dropper next time.
    Good luck, happy baking ;-)

Thanks, have bought the Panasonic sd254 before reading your review, must be the same as yours as it has no fruits dispenser. I have just done my first bread, it does not look too bad, taste a bit elastic though (baked for 4 hours) and the kneading blade got completely stuck inside the bread. Do you have the same problem?

Got the Panasonic SD253, older model with dispenser. It makes a big difference, I would not buy one without.
The problem with the blades is very common, unfortunately. You are not doing anything wrong, the bread with a big hole comes with the territory when you use a breadmaker (some machines have a blade that drops down, but that does not work too well either).

Panasonic is exceptional for bread, but tricky for cakes as it does not have a specific programme. Does not make jam like others do. But it's the best for bread.
