broadband

Which is the best home broadband deal? At a reasonable price? I currently have bt broadband with bt hub but the devices at home like the mobiles cannot connect a lot of times. I can leave bt during contract as they prices have gone up.

Depends what you need. Virgin media are good if you are in a virgin media area. I know Sky are good, but it depends on your needs, price etc.

Talk talk. Their Indian call centre is a delight, and a lovely way to spend an evening.

On uswitch you can see the providers some people in your area use, with speeds. Might give you a good indication of what's fast in your area.

Found link through mse broadband guide and will post link when I'm on the PC.

Why not try splitting the SSID of the homehub, as some devices (especially Apple) can have trouble with a wireless connection if the dual bands of the homehub both have the same SSID name.

Nothing wrong with BT Infinity, its their hub that is the problem, just got my own ( Nighthawk ) and all my problems have disappeared .

They don't price match anything. Phoned them today saying I can get a deal from another ISP for £30/month, they offered me £38/month.

Last year I tried and they offered me £45..

They won't price match, also if you have Infinity 1 you could end up taking a hit on speed, Infinity 1 up to 55 mbps, others up to 38 mbps

Do what robertr said, I had to do the same, split the bands and change to wireless mode 2, my smart hub works fine, much better range than the HH5

Oh well , they price matched for me and I've mentioned it before on BT deals , when I renewed my contract I asked why plus net were cheaper for the same package I was on and owned by them
I asked if they would match and they did
Maybe it's changed but this was over a year ago and my package only went up by a pound last year (line rental increase) so I'll ask for the same again or move to plus net .... Simples

You probably asked nicely and got what you wanted
What I meant is BT have no price match policy

BT would rather upgrade the service, than lower the price, so if you are on 38Mb, they may well offer you 76Mb for the same money (it doesnt cost them anything really).

As above, it sounds like the HH is the big issue, lots of problems with it and various services like Chromecast, although IOS products can cause issues with any non Apple gear. My parents wifi got jammed by an IOS update to their Air last year; I had to downgrade the security on the TPL router before it would work, and the cheap Maplin WiFi repeater refused point blank to accept any connection while the Air was switched on.
