recently joined Shell Broadband but have quickly discovered that the new router isn't up to scratch.

Technicolor TG588V V2. is the supplied culprit.

can anybody recommend a better one, (cheaper would be better)

many thanks to you all

As a recent convert to mesh technology, I recommend getting a TP Link Deco mesh system if you can afford it.

From my extremely limited knowledge this looks like overkill for my needs and, tbh, out of my price range

But thanks for the suggestion.

Ok I'm sorry I wasn't able to help much, but good luck!

A Basic Mesh System is £70-£100 a half decent router will cost you £70.00
TP-Link Archer VR400 if you want all in one.

Otherwise set your technicolor modem router into modem mode and buy a mesh network

@Chanser Think a VR400 is probably the way forward for me. Can it become the "hub" of a mesh system later when I (hopefully) have more funds available?
Yep vr400 can turn into a modem only box.
