    BT 12 month contract

I'm looking at getting the BT unlimited broadband package for my mother, who currently only has a BT phone contract. There is a deal for 12 months at the moment, which would cost £22.99 (includes £18.99 line rental). However, it says that at the end of 12 months, it will cost £38.99. If the contract is cancelled in month 11, could my mother have another promotional deal for another 12 months with BT (say around £23 again), instead of having to pay the increased monthly cost of £38.99? Thank you.

I would have thought so. I was going to leave BT Infinity after my contract but while i was on the phone they offered me slightly cheaper line rental, and a 40gb allowance instead of the 20GB which was the promotion at the time.

I had an ad pop up for Plusnet, and they are offering an unlimited broadband and phone deal for £18 a month for 18 months - says you can use an existing BT line - does anybody know if Plusnet is any good? Thank you.

Contact BT before the contract expires and ask to speak to their retentions team, offers will differ depending on whether still in contract/out of contract, but they would want to retain you as a customer, and may be a similar deal available for them to offer at that time.

I don't think my mum has ever had a dated contract with BT - she has had a BT line since I was a child - I am 50 now!

When you take the new package it will start the 12 month contract so I was saying about the end of that contract.

    Thank you.

I am with Plusnet. The broadband drops now and again. However the worst thing was when everything stopped working (line, phone, internet etc) and I got them to send sn engineer out (award that if it was an issue within my home it was up to me to pay it). The engineer fixed a fault in the exchange outside my home and came in to see if it was working. While in he noticed the internal BT box nedded replaced before it gave up the ghost. He wrote all this in his report and said I definitely won't be charged. Lo and behold I got a £50 charge and when I asked Plusnet, they said if he changes anything in the house , I get the charge. I'm still **** about it and will be leaving in January when my contract expires. I'll take a look at what offers are around at that point!!

Thank you for giving me your view on Plusnet, much appreciated.

When your contract is coming for renewal speak with the Customer Options Team, they have better deals than new customers can get.
