Does anybody know any deals with BT where you can get discount on a 2nd phone line into your house?

Thanks

Nope, you'll get wacked for the full install, why do you want/need a second line? Wouldn't a VOIP account be enough.
You could try a service provider such as talk talk or bulldog (if they still do res lines) to see if they'll take some of the cost.

when I moved house - 6 years ago. I called BT, to install a line was £99 but if I signed up for BT together, it changed to £50. No idea if this is still the case, but maybe worth asking.

Yes, you could get one for £9.99.

Follow instructions very carefully.

Call BT and tell them you're a new customer(does involve a credit check)

When they take your address they'll probably ask you if theres another line in the property. Say yes but its your brothers/sisters/relatives and they never let you use it/different flat/different room etc... as long as make sure that line is only for people to contact you. You also must never mention you have a mobile or broadband

This way you can have a bt incontact line for £9.99 and a quarterly rental of £10.75

The bad thing about that is that if you change from that tariff within 12 months you get to pay the rest of the £124.99 connection charge

I doubt you will get away with this as BT will notice the billing name and they aint stupid + you cant make outgoing calls.

In addition the terms and conditions clearly state you cannot have in contact lines in a house that already has a telephone service whether its BT provided or not

I was quoted £75 for a 2nd line from BT around 18 months ago.... I only wanted another line for business, so instead I just tagged a couple of free incoming 0845 numbers to my existing line,

Hi,
I've only got one BT line into my house that my work installed. I have a phone service and broadband internet via it and i never see the bill. I'm looking for an additional line to have Sky broadband installed onto it. Do you think i'll get away with the £9.99 deal?

VOIP solution:
gradwell.com/

Sooner BT and LLUers offer "naked dsl" the better (no pstn phone service, dsl sync only)

The reason i need another line is because my work is paying for a dedicated Zen broadband package for myself. A few friends are moving in and they are on a talk talk package at their old flat, the new line would be needed so that they could have their own broadband (migrated talktalk package).

If anybody has any suggestions on how to get round this that would be appreciated.
