We are currently with BT paying £35 a month for phone and broadband and would like to take up their Home Essentials package which is £20 per month. My wife is disabled so the contract is currently in my name as I handle all the official accounts. We receive income related ESA so should meet the requirement but when I applied online it told me I wasn't eligible. I rang BT but all they did was try and sell me another package. Is there anyway I can change the account name to my wife without incurring an 'early exit fee' as my contract doesn't end until Feb next year ?
