BT Roam like Home

Found 5th May 2017
Just received an email from BT regarding my sim only contract, from the 1st of June they are adding "Roam at Home". Similar Three's feel at home, letting you use your allowances abroad.

I am currently on the 20gb sim only plan for £15pm

From 1 June you can use your data, calls and text allowance in Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria and many more countries.

In fact, over 40 destinations abroad are included in the new ‘roam like home’ initiative.

Full list of countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal (Incl. Azores & Madeira), Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Vatican City, Canary Islands, French Guiana, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Iceland, Jersey, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland

A few things to note;
No USA unlike Three.
This is coming in from June 1st.
Unsure if they will throttle your roaming speed as Three do.
If you are on 20gb data and above, you will be capped at 15gb roaming data.

Hope this is off use to some as BT use EE's network rather than Three which may be better for some.

Nay bother... looks like this will apply to all networks after June 15th due to a European directive. Let's get that locked in before we leave ha.

Funny how all of the networks are screaming about how good they are doing this and don't mention they were forced to after years of charging people a fortune, only reason it's been reasonably cheap in recent years is because of the regulations.
