Budget party ideas!

i'm doing my son and daughter a joint 2nd and 7th birthday party. I have hired a hall out and disco and will be doing my own catering but im struggeling with ideas of what to put in a party bag which wont cost alot and prizes for games. There will be around 40 children coming. Any ideas where i can get cheap party bags and fillers or any other ideas of what to do instead. Thanks

Kids really like sweets.

It's all most care about

so you could fill up with lollies, chews, chocolate and cake.

Most parent's nightmare - but it's the truth

wilkos do party bag fillers

also 'medals' for prizes

pound shop toys?

I would get book sets from The Book People - can work out at £1 each or less, just add a little bag of Haribo.

Ebay, I got a huge bad of 100 or so little party bag filler toys from there

Worth a look

look on Baker Ross. they do loads of things for kid and at really resonable prices. i use them all the time.

sorry link isnt working. On ebay there are Personalised Sweet Filled Cones Party Bags Favours!

Home bargains (if you have one near you), Asda, Pound shop

Asda have party bag gifts too, near the cards and wrapping paper section.

good for the 2 year old's friends... maybe there are some activity books for the older children too?

Girls love rubbers if you can get multipacks

You could buy a packet of match attax or football cards each for the boys

The kids love balloons! You can get balloons attached to a rubber band. They blow up huge and they bash them about!

gonna have to get a linky for this one!

Scrap the traditional party bags as most of them bits end up in the bin, take yourself off to poundland and either get them a single toy/book/writing set - whatever basically, wrap them up with a bar of chocolate/sweets and put them in a lucky dip box/bag (you'll have to do a separate one for the 2yr olds and one for the 7yr olds) and get them to do a lucky dip on their way out. We've done this, and received this, and believe me the kids love it as well as getting something that they might get some use out of rather than a load of "tat".

iv got a load of play doh sets left over from my sons party ideal for boys if your interested ? not sure how to add a photo but they are sets with 4 tubs of play doh with plastic car parts to model with iv got 17 of them and would like £15 +p&p which will be around £10 unless u wanted to collect them

How about some pipe cleaners, feathers, shiny stickers, tissue paper... things that they can do some really fun crafting with at home. I agree with others that some of the party bag things just never get played with after 10 seconds. I like the idea of a lucky dip though!

That's spooky! I'm doing the same and went looking today for things....went to Tesco and bought some pencils with rubbers on (really nice ones) in packs of 6 for 2 for packs for £1. But the best place was Asda....50p per pack of prty bg fillers...whistles, spinning tops etc... some had 4 items per pack and some had 8.....oh and 25 balloons for 50p thought I'd stick on in the bags too.

Oh and....Asda's had packs of 4 medals for 50p which I thought I'd use as prizes:thumbsup:
