Buffalo External HDD not working

    Good Evening All

I have a slight problem with my 500GB Buffalo, when i plug it in, it is recognised by the computer, but doesn't show up in Computer, although it does in Disk Management, but says Not Initialised. When i try to initialise it, it says "Incorrect Function" There is some fairly important data on the drive, and would like to recover it.

Anyone got any ideas or suggestions?

I had one of these and had to send it back and got refunded, they couldnt fix it! hope you sort it

its corrupt. you need to do some data recovery.

i also have a problem with mine but a maxtor version. worked fine for the past couple of years but now not being recognised. Makes the sound at turn on and off but not there in my computer. I wondered if some windows update had ruined it lol.

Just took the (Western Digital SATA) drive out and connected it internally, but it is not being shown anywhere at all. Have some EASEUS date recovery software, but neither are seeing the drive in its uninitialised state.
